Why is it so expensive to rent in the UK? Is it because landlords are gouging prices to levels the rest of us can barely afford? Or is it to do with supply: we simply don’t have enough houses in the right places to go around?

Nick Bano, a barrister and the author of Against Landlords: How to Solve the Housing Crisis, argues it’s because of co-ordination between landlords.
