Reform UK leader Nigel Farage is facing questions over his claim that he bought his £1.4m house with his fee for appearing on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here – and not with money donated to him by a billionaire.
In 2025, Farage told the Financial Times that the fee for the show went to his company Thorn in the Side Limited. But company accounts appear to show the money had not been withdrawn when he made the purchase.
Farage received a £5m donation from Thailand-based crypto tycoon Chris Harborne in April 2024 but failed to declare it. He bought his house in cash 36 days later.
The apparent discrepancy has prompted more questions over the transparency of Farage’s finances.
The Reform leader is currently being investigated by the parliamentary standards commissioner over his failure to declare the £5m gift from Harborne.
A spokesperson for Farage said anti money laundering checks were made in March 2024, before he received the gift.
“Nigel has multiple sources of income, as you can see from his parliamentary register,” they said.
Farage was reportedly paid a seven-figure fee for his 2023 I’m a Celebrity… appearance. He finished third on the show.
