From April this year, Sadiq Khan plans to impose a new congestion charge of £11.50 per day on minicab drivers in an attempt to reduce air pollution in London. But with the charge set to cost up to £4k each year to drivers already on the brink of poverty, this policy needlessly pits people against planet, argue Kulsoom Jafri and Charlie Macnamara.
