Since launching in response to the closure of a hostel-based mother and baby unit in October 2013, the Focus E15 Mothers campaign has gone from strength to strength, from a thousands-strong petition to keep the families in Newham, East London, to holding a series of occupations and forcing Newham Council to find them homes. On 21 September the group held a family fun day on the Carpenters estate which culminated in a new occupation.
